Slack Tide Crew Socks
This design reminds Shirod Younker (Coquille/Miluk Coos/Umpqua) of the slough where tribes from the Oregon coast would cross over to get to the valley. The name “Slack Tide” refers to the time when his family would usually go out crabbing or clamming.Â
The bold design was inspired by a basket collected from the South Slough estuary by Daisy Wasson Coddington, who is a half sister to Shirod’s great grandmother.Â
